Unibank helped renovate stadium in the border village of Nrnadzor

YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. The open-air stadium in the border village of Nrnadzor of Meghri community reconstructed with the financial support of Unibank was inaugurated in a special ceremony on May 8.

Bagrat Zakaryan, the Mayor of Meghri, Father Raphael, the spiritual leader of the community, Alexan Boyajyan, the head of Nrnadzor community administration, Armen Sakapetoyan, the Chairman of Board of Trustees of Meghri Development Fund, Gurgen Ghukasyan, Deputy Chairman of Unibank, representatives of the local authorities and community members took part in the ceremony, the bank press service reported.

“For a long time Unibank has been implementing a program designed to support schools in the border regions. With our direct participation more than a dozen of computer classes and ArMath labs have been opened in the regional schools, stadiums have been reconstructed, etc. This time we gladly accepted the offer of the Meghri Development Fund to support the reconstruction of the Nrnadzor stadium. It is everyone’s duty to take care of the younger generation,” said Gurgen Ghukasyan, Deputy Chairman of Unibank’s Board.

“Even a little attention is important and inspiring. I once again thank all our partners, in particular, the management of Unibank OJSC, which supported the implementation of this project. We are moving forward by small steps but confidently to achieve our goals, i.e. to have strong and strong borderland villages and a victorious Motherland”, said Armen Sakapetoyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation during the opening ceremony.

The aim of the project was to build a modern and comfortable stadium in the village Nrnadzor, to stimulate the development of mass sports, to create another opportunity for recreation of children. The project also has a social component: the people of Nrnadzor village were involved in the reconstruction work.

The event ended with music and entertainment program performed by the students  of Meghri Sports and Cultural Center. –0–
