Armenian finance minister, head of EIB regional office discussed ways to enhance cooperation

YEREVAN, July 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan and Maciej Czura, Regional Representative of the European Investment Bank for the South Caucasus,

discussed on Tuesday in Yerevan a wide range of issues of mutual interest, as well as the Armenian government’s macroeconomic stability strategy for 2023-2025, the press service of the Finance Ministry reported.

It said they also revised medium-term public expenditure plans of the government and reduction of its debt burden.

Khachatryan was said to have highly appreciated the cooperation with the European Investment Bank, which is co-funding projects in various areas, including the construction of the North-South highway, the Sisian-Kajaran road, energy efficiency and transport system management projects in Yerevan.

Czura thanked for the warm welcome and expressed support to the Armenian government in the implementation of its ambitious reform program.

“The long-term and effective cooperation established between the Ministry of Finance of Armenia and the European Investment Bank is our guarantee of success,” the EIB representative said.

The European Investment Bank has been working with Armenia for about 12 years. EIB’s projects in Armenia include development of socio-economic infrastructures, support for the private sector and mitigation of climate change. -0-
