Armenian Human Rights Defender and WB representatives discussed cooperation issues

YEREVAN, November 4. /ARKA/. Armenian Human Rights Defender Kristine Grigoryan met today with representatives of a World Bank team implementing the third and fourth programs of public sector modernization (PCMP 3 and PCMP 4).

According to the Human Rights Defender’s press service, Grigoryan spoke about the need to strengthen the social, political, economic role of women and the work carried out to prevent gender-based violence in families.

The sides were said to have discussed also ways to contribute to strengthening the institution of the human rights defender through digitization, modernization of operating systems.

Since Armenia joined the World Bank in 1992 and IDA in 1993, the total commitments to Armenia as of May this year amounted to over $2.5 billion. -0-
