Schoolchildren competed in robotics

YEREVAN, December 20, /ARKA/. The 14th  “ArmRobotics 2022” Armenian Championship  brought together schoolchildren engaged in robotics of “Armath” engineering groups operating in different regions of Armenia

This year the theme of the competition was agro-technologies. The schoolchildren created robots that water the soil, feed the animals, harvest the crops and ease the farmer’s daily work.

The sponsor of “ArmRobotics 2022” was Acba Bank, the leader in financing Armenia’s rural sector by making large-scale investments in various fields of smart agriculture.

“An important component is the preservation and development of engineering ideas, which in Armenia is perhaps best implemented on the “Armath platforms. Today’s problems that children solve are quite complicated. It is important that Armenia has a platform where school-aged children can engage in engineering solutions, create robots and apply their ideas and thoughts. And one thing should be remembered that today’s failure is another step towards success,” said Narek Asatryan, head of Acba Bank’s public relations team.

“Agriculture provides employment to the largest part of the country’s population. The introduction of new technologies in agriculture is important for increasing its efficiency. For the new generation, from this age, we put that aspiration and motivation to solve problems for their family, neighbors and community,” says Hayk Chobanyan, executive director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE).

The “Armath” engineering laboratories were founded under the leadership of Karen Vardanyan, a devotee of the Armenian technology sector, the founder of the UATE. Now there are more than 600 “Armath” groups in Armenia. It is planned that by 2025, children will be able to engage in engineering work and studies in another 700 schools.
