ArCa payment system malfunctioned because of fraudsters

YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. The Armenian national payment system Armenian Card (ArCa) reported a failure due to fraudsters.

“An unknown vulnerability was found in the Safari browser, due to which fraudsters were able to download saved passwords and personal data. This problem also affected those users of the ArCa app/site who had not set up two-factor authentication (2FA). For this reason, card-to-card transfers are not available on the ArCa app/website,” the national payment system said today.

It said that Apple updates for iOS 16.3.1, iPadOS 16.3.1, macOS Ventura 13.2.1 released February 13, 2023 allowed to solve the problem, the descriptions refer to a similar problem – information is available at: support.apple.com and howtogeek.com.

The ArCa system strongly recommends that users activate two-factor authentication (2FA) when connecting to their accounts.

“This option is available only in the web version of our site (not through the application) in the “Personal settings” section,’ ArCa warned. – –0–
