Deflation of 0.6% registered in Armenia in 2023

YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. A 12-month (January 2024 vs. January 2023) deflation of 0.9% has been registered in Armenia’s consumer market, the  National Statistical Committee (NSC) says.

At the same time, according to the NSC, the country recorded inflation of 1.2% in January this year compared to December last year.

Armenian government’s inflation forecast for 2024 is 4% (±1.5%). The IMF expects inflation to return to the Central Bank’s target of 4% by mid-2024 and stabilize around it.

The Eurasian Development Bank projected inflation of 3.6% for 2024 -0-
