Inflation in Armenia will not approach 4% in the first quarter – head of Central Bank

YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. Inflation in Armenia will be far from the projected target in the first quarter of 2024, Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan said.

“Calculations show that we are still far from getting close to the 4% target,” he said at a press conference on Tuesday.

The government’s inflation forecast for 2024 is 4% (±1.5%). According to the National Statistics Committee, the consumer price index fell by 1.7% year-on-year in February this year and by 0.7% against January 2024. -0-
