Total volume of transactions on AMX in 2024 increased by 2.7 times, exceeding 494 billion drams

YEREVAN, March 10. /ARKA/. The total transaction volume on the Armenia Stock Exchange (AMX) in 2024 amounted to 494,124.3 million drams, compared to 185,030.5 million drams in 2023. This is according to the report from the National Statistical Committee of Armenia titled “Activities of the Securities Market in the Fourth Quarter of 2024.”

The report notes that in the first quarter of last year, the total transaction volume was 111,910.1 million drams, in the second quarter it was 94,769.9 million drams, in the third quarter it reached 129,730.6 million drams, and in the fourth quarter it amounted to 157,713.7 million drams.

Within the total transaction volume on AMX, 230.5 billion drams were repo transactions (compared to 35.8 billion drams in 2023); 3.44 billion drams were transactions involving shares (3.42 billion drams in 2023); 177.2 billion drams were transactions with government bonds (90.1 billion drams in 2023); and 82.9 billion drams were transactions with corporate bonds (55.7 billion drams in 2023). There were no transactions involving other types of securities.

The report also highlights that 10,252 transactions were completed on AMX in 2024, up from 6,472 in 2023.

As of the end of the fourth quarter last year, 29 organizations were listed on AMX, compared to 23 in 2023. ($1 = 394.58 drams)
