Armenian Deputy Prime Minister discusses priority directions of future partnership with ADB Head of Mission

YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received Donald Lambert, Director of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Armenian office on Thursday, the government press service reported.

It said the sides exchanged views on the current framework of bilateral cooperation, as well as on the priority directions of partnership in the coming years.

The sides discussed a number of directions of current cooperation, including the implementation of the investment program of the North-South transport corridor, as well as cooperation in the field of irrigation infrastructure and efficient management of water resources.

Joint work on improving seismic safety of schools was discussed in detail. The interlocutors, in particular, attaching importance to the consistent cooperation in this direction, noted that it has set new benchmarks in terms of quality and safety of school construction in the country.

ADB has provided a total of $1.9 billion in assistance to Armenia since 2005, making it one of the country’s largest multilateral partners in development programs.
