“We want the word ‘investor’ in Armenia to mean normality, not elitism” – Freedom Broker Armenia

YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. ARKA news agency spoke with Freedom Broker Armenia Director Ovak Ovakimian about the transformation of investment thinking, company strategy and trust as an economic value.

ARKA – Mr. Ovakimian, the investment market of Armenia is showing positive dynamics. How do you assess the depth of this growth? Is it a sustainable trend or a temporary surge of interest?

O. Ovakimian – We are observing not just growth, but a qualitative transformation of economic thinking. More and more people are asking themselves not only “how to make money”, but also “how to manage capital”. This is a shift from consumption to investment, from storage to asset management.

Of course, interest is also stimulated by macroeconomic factors – inflation, currency volatility, growth of technology sectors. But the main thing is the emergence of a demand for financial independence. Our task is to ensure that this interest does not remain an episode, but becomes part of the financial culture.

ARKA – What investment instruments are clients prioritizing today? To what extent does this reflect global trends?

O. Ovakimian – The structure of demand in Armenia today is largely synchronized with the global agenda. The greatest interest is generated by shares of highly liquid companies – such as Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia – as well as ETFs focused on the technology sector, healthcare and energy.

But I would emphasize that the key shift has occurred not in the instruments, but in the thinking of investors. If in 2020 many made decisions rather intuitively, today they approach investments much more consciously: they analyze business models, evaluate multipliers, and take into account macroeconomic trends.

This indicates the formation of a mature and responsible investor in Armenia.

In addition, we are increasingly noticing interest in local investment products. People want to participate not only in global markets, but also in projects that directly affect the country’s economy. This is an important marker of trust in the domestic market and a signal that the potential of the local segment will only grow.

ARKA – What role does Freedom Broker Armenia play in shaping this maturity? What steps are you taking?

O. Ovakimian – We have two key functions:

● Technological: provide the client with access to global markets.

● Educational: teach how to use this access wisely.

In the first direction, we have created a modern infrastructure: the Freedom Broker Armenia platform, direct access to more than 15 global exchanges, support and analytics in Armenian.

In the second, we are actively developing an educational ecosystem through Freedom Academy, partnerships with universities, webinars and offline events. It is fundamentally important for us that people not only invest, but understand what is behind each decision: why they invest, what goals they pursue and how investments can work for their future.

ARKA – Freedom Broker Armenia is part of the international holding Freedom Holding Corp. What does this give to your client?

O. Ovakimian – This is the basis of trust. Freedom Holding is a public company listed on NASDAQ, with a presence in the USA, Europe, and Central Asia. For Armenian clients, this means:

● Global asset security;

● Uniform work standards and international expertise.

We localize the best global practices while maintaining local specifics – from language to personalized support.

ARKA – What mission do you lay down in the development of the company in the context of economic transformation?

O. Ovakimian – We are not just a broker, but an infrastructure player. Our mission is to form an investment-mature generation.

This is not a slogan, but a strategic task.

Without financial literacy, without the ability to manage risks and capital, it is impossible to build a sustainable economy.

Therefore, we invest in education, advocate transparent rules, and offer tools that develop responsibility. In 5-10 years, we want the word “investor” in Armenia to mean not elitism, but a norm – a conscious citizen included in the economy.

ARKA – Thank you for the conversation.

O. Ovakimian – Thank you. Today is the time to invest – not only money, but also thinking.
