Armenia approves EAEU agreement on allowing brokers and dealers to trade on exchanges of union countries

YEREVAN, July 24. /ARКА/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a proposal to sign a draft agreement on granting permission to brokers and dealers of one Eurasian Economic Union member state to participate in organized trades of exchanges (trade organizers) of other EAEU member states.

According to the rationale for the decision, the conclusion of the agreement will allow residents of Armenia providing investment services (brokers and dealers) to purchase securities and derivatives (including foreign exchange) in circulation on the exchanges of EAEU member states, both for residents of Armenia and for resident clients of countries that are not members of the EAEU.

At the same time, this will ensure the attraction of investments to the Armenian securities market by providing access to Armenian exchange instruments for persons providing investment services in EAEU countries.

The agreement is aimed at providing access for non-resident clients of the EAEU member states to the stock exchanges of these states through non-resident brokers and dealers.
