ACBA Federation promotes rural tourism in Armenia: the success story of Manana guest house (video)

YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Four years prior, Astghik Ghazaryan, a professional educator, established the Manana guest house in her hometown of Marmarik.

This location attracts enthusiasts of rural charm and comfort. In addition to a cozy stay, visitors can explore ancient Armenian crafts such as carpet weaving, textile production, and doll crafting, as well as engage in hiking excursions and savor a variety of homemade meals.

The Manana guest house is among the beneficiaries of the Rural Tourism Development initiative by the ACBA Federation and the  German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU).  This program enabled Astghik to address the irrigation challenges faced by the gardens of the guest house.

“Throughout the three summer months, numerous guests visited our establishment, expressing that the conditions here are outstanding and that they would be delighted to extend their stay. It was during this time that the concept of transforming our home into a guest house emerged. I consistently keep abreast of current events, which is how I discovered that the ACBA Federation and NABU had launched a grant competition for guest houses titled ‘Green Guest House.’ I submitted an application, they came to evaluate it, and it turned out that our guest house was one of the five winners in Armenia. We considered that rainwater could serve as a source for irrigating the garden. Thanks to the program, we now possess a two-ton tank that collects rainwater from the roof and automatically irrigates the garden,” stated Astghik Ghazaryan.

Astghik has numerous plans for enhancing the guest house, which will increase the recognition of her village in the future. The Manana guest house is situated at the following address: Tsaghkadzor community, Marmarik village, tel.: 093 24 13 40.

The ACBA Federation is the only significant shareholder of ACBA Bank, owning more than 75% of the bank’s shares.
