Moody’s assigns Acba Bank its highest possible rating in Armenia

YEREVAN, October 6. /ARКА/. The international rating agency Moody’s has assigned Armenian Acba Bank a long-term national and foreign currency deposit rating, along with an issuer rating of Ba3, which comes with a stable outlook, as reported by the bank’s press service.

This rating corresponds with the rating of the Republic of Armenia and currently represents the highest rating that Moody’s has awarded in Armenia.

The assignment of this rating to the bank is based on its robust capital buffers and capacity to absorb losses, along with its high profitability, superior asset quality, and a diversified loan portfolio.

Moody’s further highlights Acba Bank’s systemic significance within the Armenian financial market, noting that it is one of the three largest banks in terms of asset size.

The Ba3 rating given to Acba Bank by Moody’s is also equivalent to the BB rating that Fitch Ratings has assigned to the bank, which aligns with Armenia’s overall rating.

Acba Bank is under the control of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.-0-
