Taxpayers received 409 billion drams in refunds in 2025

YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. Taxpayers received 409 billion drams in refunds in 2025, a 4.2% increase compared to 2024, Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of State Revenue Committee, announced at a press conference on the 2025 results.

“The mortgage loan refund stands out in particular – 95.6 billion drams, or 39.4% more than in 2024,” Hakobyan said.

About the program

Since 2015, Armenia has been implementing a program to pay off mortgage interest (on new buildings) by refunding income taxes paid to the state budget. A property price cap of 55 million drams applies, as does the tax refund cap of 750,000 drams for three months for loan agreements concluded after January 1, 2025.

The income tax refund system will be phased out by region.

1) Yerevan City – for mortgages received after January 1, 2025 (if the property is located within the administrative territory of the capital).

2) Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, and Kotayk Regions – for mortgages received after January 1, 2027 (if the property is located within the administrative territories of these regions).

3) Other regions – for mortgage loans received after January 1, 2029 (if the property is located in the administrative territories of Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions) ($1 – 377.97 drams).
