Net inflow of remittances to Armenia from abroad increased by approximately 3.2 times in the first quarter

YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. The net inflow of cross-border transfers to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $458.2 million in January-March 2026, compared to $143.7 million in January-March 2025, according to a report from the Central Bank.

Thus, this figure increased 3.19 times year-on-year.

Moreover, in March alone, the net inflow of remittances amounted to $155.2 million, compared to $56.2 million in March last year.

The inflow of cross-border transfers to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $1.47 billion in the first quarter of this year, compared to $1.27 billion in the first quarter of last year.

Russia leads in transfers to Armenia with $945.3 million and the United States with $187.4 million. Furthermore, Russia and the United States also led in transfers to Armenia for the 2025 reporting period ($819.5 million and $157.7 million, respectively).

Meanwhile, the outflow of individual transfers from Armenia abroad through the Armenian banking system in the first three months of 2026 amounted to $1.01 billion, compared to $1.13 million in the same period of 2025.

The United States ($198.7 million) and the UAE ($143.4 million) led in transfers from Armenia abroad during the reporting months. In the first quarter of 2025, the leaders were Switzerland ($289.6 million) and the UAE ($170 million).
