A New Level of Insurance Innovation: The Armenian Bureau of Motor Insurers and GAIP Sign a Cooperation Agreement

YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. The Armenian Bureau of Motor Insurers and the international organization Global Association of InsurTech Professionals (GAIP) signed a cooperation agreement on Monday in the field of compulsory motor insurance (CMTPLI) and insurance technologies.

The document was signed by Vaghinak Yeghiazaryan, Executive Director of the Armenian Bureau of Motor Insurers, and Aftab Hasan, Founder of GAIP.

The signing comes ahead of the InsureTek Armenia 2026 international forum, which will be held in Yerevan on June 4 with the participation of representatives of the Armenian and international insurance and technology sectors, investors, and experts.

Yeghiazaryan stated that the insurance sector in Armenia does not yet occupy a leading position in the financial system, but that expanding the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence is essential for the industry’s development.

Hasan, in turn, announced that the InsureTek Armenia 2026 conference will feature participation not only from the local insurance market but also from international experts.

“We view Armenia as an important destination for regional and international dialogue and innovation in the insurance sector. There is a growing understanding of the sector’s importance in the country, and numerous projects are being implemented, which we highly welcome. We see ideas and initiatives that should be taken to the next level,” Hasan said.
