Loans issued by Armenian commercial banks exceeded 8.16 trillion drams at the end of March

YEREVAN, May 15. /ARKA/. The volume of loans issued by commercial banks in Armenia as of the end of March 2026 amounted to 8,163,745 million drams, compared to 8,035,184 million drams at the end of February, according to data from the Statistical Committee.

Loans issued to residents amounted to 7.82 trillion drams at the end of March, compared to 7.68 trillion drams at the end of February. Loans in drams to residents amounted to 5.30 trillion drams, compared to 5.23 trillion drams a month earlier, and loans in foreign currency amounted to 2.52 trillion drams, compared to 2.45 trillion drams. The volume of loans issued by commercial banks to non-residents at the end of March amounted to 343.4 billion AMD, compared to 354.7 billion AMD in February. The volume of AMD loans to non-residents amounted to 68.7 billion AMD, compared to 67.7 billion AMD the previous month, and the volume of foreign currency loans amounted to 274.7 billion AMD, compared to 287 billion AMD.

The volume of loans issued by credit institutions at the end of the third month of this year amounted to 429.3 billion AMD, compared to 422.4 billion AMD at the end of February. Non-residents received 35.7 billion AMD in loans, compared to 35.9 billion AMD the previous month, and residents received 393.7 billion AMD, compared to 386.4 billion AMD.

In March, the commercial bank lending rate was 13.96%, down from 13.63% in February. The Central Bank’s repo rate was 6.50%, unchanged for the month. ($1 = 368.23 drams).
