YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has identified the services sector, construction, and industry as the main drivers of economic growth in Armenia in January–May 2026.
According to the EDB’s June macroeconomic review, economic activity in the country grew by 8% year-on-year over the five months, following a 6.9% increase in January–April.
“The largest contribution to growth came from the services sector, where the indicator increased by 9.1% year-on-year, construction (+24.1%), and industry (+12.2%). At the same time, foreign trade dynamics were mixed: imports increased by 2.2% year-on-year, while exports decreased by 3.6%,” the document states.
The EDB also noted that it expects Armenia to maintain high economic activity in 2026, driven by domestic growth sources.
Earlier, the EDB raised its forecast for Armenia’s economic growth in 2026 from 5.3% to 6%. The bank estimates growth at 5.7% in 2027 and 5.3% in 2028.
