Armenian banks’ lending to resident customers grows by 2.9% in February to 937.7 billion drams

YEREVAN, April 8. / ARKA /. Armenian banks’ lending to resident customers in 2011 February rose by 2.9% from the previous month to  total of 937.7 billion Drams, while lending to non-residents rose by 17.1% to 58.5 billion Drams, the Central Bank of Armenia said in its report on money and credit indicators.

The report says the volume of loans extended to residents in Armenia’s national currency, the Dram, grew in February by 1.7% from January to  total of 400.3 billion Drams. The volume of loans in foreign currency grew by 3.9% to 537.4 billion Drams.

The volume of loans provided to non-residents in Drams grew by 12.2% to 10.7 billion Drams and the volume of loans in foreign currency (denominated in Drams)  increased by 18.2%  to 47.8 billion Drams. ($1 – 371.29 Drams).  -0-
