Let’s Talk Smart About Money: Armenia to Host Global Money Week 2026

YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. The international information campaign “Global Money Week 2026” (GMW2026) will be held in Armenia from March 16 to 22, 2026.

Armenia has been participating in the Global Money Week initiative since 2014, and the Central Bank of Armenia serves as its national coordinator. Collaboration is planned with the Department of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.

This year’s GMW2026 theme is “Smart Money Talks.” The campaign aims to improve financial literacy among young people and foster a responsible approach to personal finance. The event will include visits to youth centers across the country to hold discussions on financial topics with the participation of young people.

Young people face financial decisions every day – from earning their first income to managing student loans, from investing to protecting themselves from fraud, from controlling spending to having fun with friends.

Personal finance can be scary, stressful, and even awkward. Many young people may not know who to turn to for financial questions, who to talk to about money, or are afraid to share their financial concerns.

By sharing stories and asking questions, they can gain the confidence and skills needed to manage money wisely. Open conversations about money and basic financial knowledge help avoid mistakes, reduce anxiety, and develop healthy financial habits.

As part of the Global Money Week campaign, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is bringing together participants from more than 170 countries around a common goal: improving young people’s financial literacy and developing responsible financial behaviour.
