Armenia’s monetary base grows 5% to AMD 506.3 billion in March 2011

YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. Armenia’s monetary base grew 5% or by AMD 24.3 million in March 2011, compared with the previous month, to AMD 506.3 billion, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

Cash outside of the central bank reached AMD 312.42 billion by late March against AMD 312.39 billion in late February.

Mandatory reserves in drams amounted to AMD 96 billion in late March against AMD 94.2 billion in late February, and those in foreign currencies totaled AMD 82.3 billion against AMD 62.5 billion.

According to the statistical report based on the regulator’s figures, net international reserves less funds from privatization reached AMD 421.3 billion by late March after growing by 7.2 billion or 1.7% over this month, compared with February.

Net internal assets amounted to AMD 85 billion in late March against AMD 67.9 billion in late February. ($1 = AMD 370.27). -0-
