Combined lending of Armenian banks to resident economy at the end of December 2011 amounted to 1.197.9 trillion drams

YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. The combined lending of Armenian banks to resident economy at the end of December 2011 amounted to more than 1.197.9 trillion drams, having increased by 3.1% or 36 billion drams as opposed to November, the Central Bank of Armenia said in its aggregated report on  monetary indicators for December 2011.

According to the report, trade loans accounted for the largest share in the combine lending standing at 23% or 275.7 billion drams. The figure represented a 1.2% rise from November. The lending to industrial sector was said to have contracted by 0.9% to 268.6 billion drams accounting for 22.4% of the combined lending.

Consumer credits made 18.1%; they increased by 5.2% as compared to November and stood at 217.4 billion drams. Mortgage loans reached 110.3 billion drams, an increase of 2.5% from November.

Lending to the construction sector grew by 8.5% to 98.2 billion drams. In addition, lending to agriculture increased by 6.9% to about 73.4 billion drams, lending to services increased by 5.2% to 57.2 billion drams and to transport and communications by 8.9% to 42.5 billion drams.
