Central Bank of Armenia issues three commemorative coins

YEREVAN, September 19. / ARKA /. The Central Bank of Armenia has issued three silver commemorative coins as part of international numismatic program called Armenian Monasteries and Churches. The coins are dedicated to the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, monasteries Gndevank and Noravank.

The Central Bank said a total of 7,500 coins were issued – 2,500 for each category. The face value of the coins is 1000 drams. The coins are made of high quality silver and their size is 27×47 mm and the weight is 25.0 grams. The obverse of the coins has in the center the emblem of the Republic of Armenia. Below it is the face value – 1,000 drams. The reverse of the coins depicts the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, Gndevank and Noravank monasteries respectively. All commemorative coins have the same technical characteristics. They were minted by the Mint Mayer in Germany. -0-
