Armenia’s banking system to grow 18-22% over 3-5 years- expert

YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. Armenia’s banking system is to see a 18-22% growth over the next 3-5 years, Development Director of Ameriabank  Tigran Jrbashyan said Tuesday.

“As of now, the indicators of the banking system demonstrate this projection: we have a 20% growth in almost all indicators,” he told journalists.

The total assets of Armenia’s banks rose by 11.71% to about 2, 297 billion drams within the three quarters 2012 from earlier this year, the banks’ balance data, analyzed by ARKA, show. Liabilities of banks increased by 12.83% to 1.902 billion drams, credit investments upped by 16.08% to 1.454 billion drams.

As of now, there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. —0-
