Car insurance compensations total 8.2bln drams in January-November in Armenia

YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. Armenian insurance companies paid a total of 39,665 car insurance compensations worth a total of about 8.2 billion drams in January-November, car insurers’ bureau reports

As of the end of November, more than 379,400 vehicles were insured and over 41,100 applications were made for compensation, says the report. Only 449 compensation claims were satisfied, according to the report.

Today compensations worth a total of 198.3 million drams are due for payment.

Total insurance premiums amounted to about 13.6 billion drams in January-November.

There are currently seven insurance companies operating in the Armenian market. The mandatory car insurance was introduced in the country on January 1, 2011. The Central Bank of Armenia has been responsible for regulation of the insurance market since January 1, 2006. ($1=403.27drams). –0–
