Deposits in Armenian commercial banks grow 21.8% to AMD 1 602.9 billion in late April 2014

YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. Deposits in Armenian commercial banks totaled AMD 1 602.9 billion in April 2014 after growing 21.8%, compared with April 2013, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

Residents’ deposits grew 19.7% to AMD 1 202.9 billion, where deposits in drams amounted to AMD 472.6 billion (25.4% year-on-year growth) and deposits in foreign currencies AMD 730.3 billion (16.2% growth).

Demand deposits grew 19.9% to AMD 358.2 billion (29.8% of the aggregate deposits). Dram deposits here amounted to AMD 188.6 billion and deposits in foreign currencies AMD 169.6 billion.

Residents’ time deposits totaled AMD 844.7 billion (19.5% growth) – dram deposits amounted to AMD 284 billion and deposits in foreign currencies AMD 560.7 billion.
