Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $120.9 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, December 22. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $120.9 mln at a weighted average rate of 488.17rams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on December 15 to December 20, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, 9.6 mln euros and about 722.7 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 599.65 drams per €1 and 7.84 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $150.8mln, €12.8mln and about 367.2mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 495 drams, 621.57drams and 8.25drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (December 8-14) totaled about 50.8bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $73.1mln. ($1=455.75drams). –0–
