Central Bank’s Visitors’ Center joins ‘Night of Museums-2015’ cultural event

YEREVAN, May 14. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Central Bank said today in a press release that its Visitors Center has joined the “Night of Museums-2015” international cultural event dedicated to the International Museum Day.

It said the Visitors Centre will be open to all on May 16 from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm and on May 18 from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm.

“Visitors will learn the history of money circulation in Armenia –from the first Armenian coins to modern-day paper banknotes, metal coins, commemorative coins and medals. Visitors will also get acquainted with the security features of the national currency, the dram,” the Central Bank said.

The Night of Museums is a cultural event initiated by France in 2005, in which museums and cultural institutions in an area remain open late into the night giving visitors a common entrance pass and granting them access to all exhibits.

On May 16 all the museums in Armenia will be open until midnight. Armenia joined this cultural event in 2005 with nine museums. Last year their number reached 100, including also museums in Nagorno-Karabakh.-0-
