Banks buy $65.5 million last week

YEREVAN, June 6. / ARKA /. Armenia’s commercial banks bought a total of $65.5 million from the local foreign currency market on May 30- June 3 at the average weighted exchange rate of 476.91 drams per one USD, the Central Bank said.

It said the banks also bought 10.5 million euros and 862 million Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 531.06 and 7.16 drams per one euro and one ruble respectively.

The banks also sold about $ 68.5 million, € 10.7 million and 402.5 million rubles at average weighted exchange rates of 478.56, 536.00 drams and 7.26 drams respectively.

In addition, from 23 to 29 May, the banks provided 37.8 billion drams worth loans in the national currency and $42.5 million worth loans in USD. ($ 1- 478.06 drams).  -0-
