Six Armenia-based insurance companies collect 12.9 billion drams of premiums for mandatory car insurance in third quarter

YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/. Six Armenia-based insurance companies collected a total of 12.9 billion drams of premiums for mandatory car insurance in the third quarter of 2016, and paid 6 billion drams in damage compensation claims, according to ARKA news agency’s third quarter bulletin “Insurance Companies of Armenia.”

According to the bulletin, the insurance companies collected a total of 23.2 billion drams in all types of insurance premiums and paid 10.1 billion drams in damage compensation claims.

The leading company in terms of collected premiums for mandatory insurance of vehicles WAS Rosgosstrakh-Armenia – 3.790.9 billion drams. It also paid 2.103.5 billion drams in damage compensation claims.

It was followed by Nairi Insurance that collected 2.574.5 billion drams in car insurance premiums and paid 714.9 million drams in damage compensation claims, Sil Insurance – 1.484.1 and 896.5 million drams respectively, Reso – 1.540.9 billion and 666.2 million drams respectively and Armenia Insurance – 918.9 million and 402 million drams respectively.

The assets of Armenian insurance companies in the third quarter stood at 45.1 billion drams (an 8.2% growth from the beginning of the year0; their liabilities grew by 0.7% to 22.8 billion drams and their capital surged by 18.2% to 19.3 billion drams. Their net profit was worth about 3.9 billion drams against about 2.4 billion drams in the same period of 2015, an increase of 62.7%. ($ 1 – 479.21 drams) -0-
