Anelik Bank first in Armenia to become member of BAFT

YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. Anelik Bank has recently joined Bankers’ Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) in the scope of international cooperation development, the bank’s press office reported on Friday.

BAFT, the leading global financial services association for international transaction banking, helps bridge solutions across financial institutions, service providers and the regulatory community that promote sound financial practices enabling innovation, efficiency, and commercial growth. BAFT engages on a wide range of topics affecting transaction banking, including trade finance, payments, and compliance.

It has more than 240 member financial institutions and organizations in over 50 countries. In CIS only 3 countries are members of the Association, including Armenia, represented by Anelik Bank.

Anelik Bank CJSC was established on July 9, 1990 and registered on October 1, 1991.

In July 2009, Credit Bank S.A.L., one of Lebanon’s largest banks, bought 51% of Anelik Bank’s shares and became its general shareholder. In 2012, the share of CreditBank S.A.L. in Anelik Bank grew to 89.95%, and in 2013, it became the sole shareholder.

Now the bank has two shareholders FISTOCO LTD – 59.7% and CreditBank S.A.L. – 40.3%. -0-

The combined loan portfolio of 17 Armenia-based commercial banks upped  by 6.11% in Q2 2025 compared to Q1 2025, amounting to AMD 6.82 trillion, according to a ranking compiled by  the ARKA news agency.
