Armenian banks paid 40.5 billion drams in taxes in 2017

YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. The list of Armenia’s 1000 largest corporate taxpayers in 2017 includes all 17 commercial banks operating in the country, which paid about 40.5 billion drams in taxes, up from 34.4 billion drams paid in 2016, the State Revenue Committee said.

Of that amount about 40.2 billion drams were collected by the tax authorities, and about 278.9 million drams by the customs authorities. Some 36 billion drams were direct taxes (income and payroll taxes), 2.23 billion drams were indirect taxes (including VAT and excise tax), and another 2.2 billion drams were other taxes, duties and mandatory payments.

The five leading banks by size of paid taxes last year were Ardshinbank – 4.7 billion drams (26th place), VTB Bank (Armenia) – about 4.2 billion drams (29th place), ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK – 4.18 billion drams (30th place), Ameriabank – 4 billion drams (32nd place) and Armbusinessbank – 3.3 billion drams (43rd place).

The list of the 100 largest taxpayers includs also Inecobank – 3 billion drams, Anelik Bank – 2.7 billion drams, Unibank – 2.6 billion drams, Converse Bank – 2.47 billion drams, Araratbank – 2 billion drams, ArmSwissbank – 1.8 billion drams, Armeconombank – 1.7 billion drams.

Overall, the 1000 largest taxpayers paid over 807.4 billion drams in various taxes last year, by 12.7% or 91.2 billion drams more than in 2016. ($ 1 – 480.81 drams). -0-
