Armenian police arrest a man who tried to rob a currency exchange office in Yerevan

YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. Armenian Police said they have opened a criminal case into an attempted robbery of a currency exchange office located in a trading center in the capital city Yerevan. The attempted robbery was reported on ​​January 4, 2020 at around 20.20.

The alleged criminal was said to enter the exchange office and attacked one of its employees by a knife demanding that he give all the money. The attacker was shown resistance by the employee and a co-worker. The attacker manages to escape from the scene.

The police said they have established the identity of the person who committed the crime. He is a Yerevan-born man, aged 33. He was tracked down and detained on suspicion of robbery. Later, the court allowed his arrest.

A suspect or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to a court verdict that enters into legal force in the manner established by the Code of Criminal Procedure of Armenia .– 0–
