Armenian Ambassador to  U.S. and WB Group Executive Director discuss deepening of cooperation

YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/.  Armenian Ambassador to the United States Lilit Makunts met recently with Eugene Rhuggenaath ,  the new World Bank Group Executive Director representing the Constituency of Armenia and some other countries.

Makunts and Rhuggenaath discussed ways to deepen cooperation based on the immediate and long-term priorities of the Armenian government.  

On WB programs in Armenia

The World Bank is currently financing 10 projects in Armenia with a total value of $500 million.

Since its inception in Armenia in 1992, the WB has provided it with approximately $2.7 billion through the International Development Association, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and trust funds.

The World Bank is committed to continuing to support Armenia’s development toward poverty reduction and shared prosperity. -0-
