Armenian banks’ loan portfolios in 2023 amounted to AMD 5.15 trillion

YEREVAN, January 26. /ARKA/. The total volume of loans issued by Armenian banks in 2023 amounted to AMD 5.15 trillion, up from  AMD 4.21 trillion issued a year earlier, according to  the Central Bank.

The volume of loans provided to residents amounted to AMD 4.88 trillion (AMD 4 trillion in 2022), and to non-residents – to AMD 269.8 billion (AMD 204.5 billion in 2022).

Some AMD 3.21 trillion loans provided to residents were AMD loans and the equivalent of AMD 1.67 trillion were loans in foreign currencies. Non-residents were granted AMD 104.1 billion worth of  credits, while the volume of foreign currency credits amounted to the equivalent of AMD 165.7 billion.

Also, the undistributed accumulated profit of the Armenian banks in  2023 amounted to 176,7 billion drams against 238.3 billion drams in  2022.

The total assets of Armenian banks amounted to AMD 9.2 trillion against AMD 8.4 trillion in 2022.

Their total liabilities  reached AMD 7.8 trillion against AMD 7.1 trillion a year earlier.

Total capital of the banks grew to AMD 1.4 trillion vs. AMD 1.2 trillion in  2022. ($1 – AMD 404.21) -0-
