Deflation of 0.7% registered in Armenia in April 2024

YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia were down 0.7% in April this year compared to April last year, the  National Statistical Committee (NSC) says.

At the same time, according to the NSC, inflation of 0.6% was registered in April 2024 compared to March.

Pices decreased by 1.1% in January-April 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

The government’s inflation projection for 2024 is 4% (±1.5%). According to the Central Bank, inflation is expected to reach 1.3% in 2024. The forecast for 2025 is 4.6-4.1% and 4.7-4.1%for 2026.

The WB expects inflation in Armenia to be 3% in 2024, 3.5% in 2025 and 4% in 2026. The IMF forecasts that prices will rise by 3.1% in 2024 and by 3.7% in 2025. -0-
