Consultative Council on EEU currency policy held in Yerevan

YEREVAN, 2 December. /ARKA/. The 27th session of the Consultative Council on Currency Policy was held at the Central Bank of Armenia on Monday, the regulator’s press service reported.

The session was attended by representatives of central (national) banks of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia- members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The delegation of Uzbekistan participated as an observer. During the meeting they discussed the economic situation in the EEU countries, monetary policy, peculiarities of application of mandatory reserve requirements and the state of the real estate market.

The Council is a consultative  body of central (national) banks and financial regulatory authorities of the EEU member states. Its decisions are of a recommendatory nature. Meetings are held at least twice a year, alternately in each member state. -0-
