Cashback for pensioners on cashless purchases in Armenia will increase to 20%, according to the minister

YEREVAN, October 1. /ARKA/. Effective January 1, 2026, the cashback rate for pensioners and benefit recipients on cashless transactions for purchases and housing and utility services will rise to 20%, up from the current 12%, as announced by Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan.

“Consequently, pensions will see an increase of approximately 3,000-3,500 drams. Our citizens will have the opportunity to enhance their pensions and benefits through cashless payments,” Torosyan stated during a government Q&A session in parliament.

The cashback initiative for pensioners and benefit recipients in Armenia has been operational since July 1, 2022.

Initially, participants received a 10% cashback on their monthly expenditures (capped at 5,000 drams per month); this was later raised to 12% (with a maximum of 6,000 drams). The cashback amount is disbursed by the 25th of the subsequent month.

On September 25, 2025, the Armenian government allocated nearly 3.22 billion drams to sustain the cashback program for pensioners and benefit recipients through the end of the year. ($1 = 382.74 drams).-0-
