Armenia’s GDP growth forecast is around 5.4-5.6% in the medium term: Finance Minister

ALMATY, June 25. /ARKA/. The Armenian government forecasts stable economic growth of 5.4-5.6% annually in the medium term, stated RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan.

“We forecast stable growth of 5.4-5.6% annually in the medium term, which is fully consistent with the current potential of our economy,” Hovhannisyan said in Almaty at a business forum dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Eurasian Development Bank.

According to the minister, over the past five years, Armenia’s economy has grown by an average of 7.9% annually, and in 2025, real GDP is expected to increase by 7.1%.

Hovhannisyan noted that this growth was driven by the strong performance of the service and construction sectors. “A real boom was observed in construction, which grew by a record 20.9%,” Hovhannisyan stated.

The minister also emphasized that the government continues to strictly adhere to policies of macroeconomic stability and debt sustainability.

“In 2025, the state budget deficit amounted to 3.7% of GDP, and over the past five years, it has averaged 3.2%, despite global economic turbulence and regional geopolitical instability,” he said.
