Consumer prices in Armenia down 0.2% as Armenian dram gains 1.5% over U.S. dollar in April

YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia went 0.2% down as the Armenian dram gained 1.5% over the U.S. dollar in April, compared with March, National Statistical Service of Armenia reported on Tuesday.

In April 2011 compared with December 2010, prices rose 5% and the national currency strengthened 3.7%.

Consumer prices in Armenia climbed 4.9% and the dram added 3.7% against the dollar in April 2011, compared with the same month a year earlier.

In April, the average foreign exchange rate was 373.82 drams per one dollar in April 2011 (5.2% lower than the April 2010 exchange rate). ($1 = AMD 370.68). -0-
