Armenia’s foreign trade in 2011 April surges by 19.1% year-on-year to $449.4 million

YEREVAN, May 20, /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in 2011 April surged by 19.1% year-on-year to 167.9 billion drams or $449.4 million, the National Statistical Service (NSS) told ARKA. According to its preliminary data, the trade in April rose by 2.9% from March.

Armenian exports were said to have risen by 21% if compared to 2010 April to 41.4 billion drams or $110.9 million, while imports grew by 16.6% to 126.5 million drams or $338.5 million. The negative trade gap totaled 85.1 billion drams or $227.6 million. Exports in April grew by 13.5% from March while imports fell by 0.1%. The average exchange rate of one USD in April was 373.65 drams. -0-
