Armenian banks to take part in banking investment forum in Los Angeles

YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Armenian banks will take part in the banking investment forum to be held in Los Angeles on September 25, Ashot Osipyan, chairman of the Union of Armenian Banks, said Friday at a news conference.

“As many as 15 Armenian banks have already applied for participation,” he said.

As initiator this event, the union aims at presenting Armenia’s economic, particularly banking capacity to foreign investors and Armenians living abroad.

Osipyan said that many clients from Armenian communities overseas are present in Armenia’s banking system.

“Our goal is to make our banking system closer to investors,” he said adding that American banks would attend the forum as well.

Osipyan said that European and Russian banks have expressed interest in this forum.

Some 200 people have already registered for participation in the conference. -0—

Armenian commercial banks paid 28.65 billion drams in various taxes in Q1

All 17 Armenia-based commercial banks are included in the list of the 1,000 largest taxpayers in the first quarter of 2026, having paid a total of 28.65 billion drams to the state budget, according to data released today by the State Revenue Committee.
