Lending to resident customers increased by 3.3% in December 2011 to 1.2 trillion drams

YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. The volume of loans provided by Armenian commercial banks to resident customers in December 2011 increased by 3.3% from November to a total of 1.226.6 trillion drams, the Central Bank of Armenia said in a statement posted on its official website. It said the volume of lending to non-residents fell by 9.1% to about 44.4 billion drams.

The lending to residents in drams was said to have increased by 2.4% to 483.7 billion drams, while loans in foreign currency increased by 3.9% to about 742.9 billion drams. Loans in Armenian dram to non-residents decreased by 0.3% to 11.35 billion drams and loans in foreign currency declined by 11.8% to 33 billion Drams. ($1 – 386.77 AMD). -0-
