Komitas Park Improvement: Acba Bank’s Gift to Yerevan on the Bank’s 30th Anniversary

YEREVAN, March 4. /ARKA/. Komitas Park will be improved in collaboration between Acba Bank and the Yerevan Municipality. The park improvements are Acba Bank’s gift to Yerevan on the occasion of the bank’s 30th anniversary.

The goal of the project is to transform the park into a full-fledged recreation and leisure area. In the near future, the park will become more well-maintained, modern, and green: a garden adjacent to the conservatory will tell the story of Komitas and his legacy, according to the bank’s press service.

Over 3,000 plants will be planted on the grounds, creating a comfortable and green environment. A drip irrigation system will be installed, new walking paths will be added, and a small stage with an amphitheater will be built for outdoor concerts. The park will be imbued with new meaning, taking into account its new features, with one of the main goals being the preservation of the already established, tall, and mature trees. Preserving the park’s historical structure is equally important. A water feature is planned around the monument as a tribute to the famous image of Komitas sitting by a pond.

“Acba Bank is celebrating its 30th anniversary: a number of events are planned, and this, one of our largest Yerevan-related events, will be our great gift to the city. We want this green space to become a more attractive, modern, and beloved place for Yerevan residents, especially children and students. The project will be implemented innovatively, in accordance with all standards, taking into account all environmental conditions, preserving the green space, and introducing new artistic lighting solutions,” noted Acba Bank CEO Hakob Andreasyan.

“We are implementing this project jointly with our partners at Acba Bank, and it is one of the few, yet very important, initiatives emanating from our banking sector. “Acba Bank offered to implement a project in this park and co-finance its reconstruction. According to this project, I think this is one of the most important green spaces in the city center, one of the most important parks, which will be returned to the city in a new, modernized form. I would like to thank Mr. Andreasyan for his active participation, and I think this is a very important example for our private partners that social responsibility is important regardless of the sector. I think that Acba Bank has established a very important role in terms of social responsibility to the city. Both I and the people of Yerevan are very grateful for this approach,” said Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

The bank is controlled by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
