Volume of compensations for mandatory car insurance in 2011 in Armenia was about 5.6 billion drams

YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. Armenian insurance companies as of December 31 paid 24 914 compensations of mandatory car insurance in the total amount of about 5.6 billion drams, states the site of car insurers of Armenia.

“As of December 31 over 392.7 thousand transport means were insured in Armenia, the number of applications for getting compensation was about 27 thousand, and the applications were not satisfied in 348 cases”, states the site.

At present, compensations in the total amount of 93.4 million drams are in the process of payment.

The volume of insurance premiums in 2011 was about 14.835 million drams.

Today in the insurance market of Armenia eight companies are operating. Institute of mandatory car insurance operates in Armenia since January 1, 2011.

Total assets of Armenian insurance companies as of September 30 are 28.8 billion drams, total liabilities – 14.1 billion drams and total capital – 14.7 billion drams.
