Armenian banks’ overdrafts amounted to 275.9bln drams in Q2

YEREVAN, August 22. /ARKA/. Overdrafts paid by Armenia’s commercial banks in the second quarter of 2013 against the quarter before rose by 16.1% to 275.9 billion drams, according to an intermediate report analysis by ARKA Agency.

Bank VTB (Armenia) is the leader in overdrafts to clients by the end of June 2013, with a total of 115 billion drams paid in overdraft, an increase of 2.7% against the quarter before. Overdrafts were 59.2% of overall bank borrowing by Bank VTB (Armenia).

Among leaders in amount of overdrafts are also Unibank with 40. 1bln drams (no data available for Q1), Ardshininvestbank with 37.1bln drams (4.2% reduction), Armbusinessbank with 26.3bln drams (3.7% reduction) and Artsakhbank with 19.1bln drams (1.7% increase).

There were 21 commercial banks (with 478 branches) operating in Armenia as of the end of June 2013. ($1= 406.27drams).–0–
