Assets of Armenia’s banking system rose by 13.54% to 2,719.6 bln drams in Q3

YEREVAN, October 18. /ARKA/. Aggregate assets of Armenia’s banking system amounted to 2,719.6 billion drams as of the end of September 2013, an increase of 13.54% from the beginning of the year.

ARKA News Agency’s analysis showed Ameriabank remained the largest asset-owner among the country’s banks in the third quarter of 2013 with 296.6 billion drams (21.04% increase). This bank accounted for 10.9% of aggregate assets of all banks.

The second largest asset-owner bank is Bank VTB (Armenia) with 291.1 billion drams (37.77% increase), followed by ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank with 263.9bln drams (6.68% increase), Ardshininvestbank with over 261.8bln drams (31.91% increase) and HSBC Bank Armenia with 277.8bln drams (7.76% increase).

There were 21 commercial banks operating in Armenia as of the end of September. ($1=406.36drams).–0–
