Investments in government bonds in Armenia grow 9.6% to AMD 267 billion in July

YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Investments in government bonds in Armenia totaled AMD 267 billion in late July 2014 after growing 9.6% over the month, the Central bank of Armenia reports in a fresh issue of its monthly bulletin.

Residents’ investments in government bonds grew 9.7% to about AMD 266.48 billion.
Armenian banks’ investments in government bonds shrank 1.6% in July, compared with June, to AMD 127.7 billion and the central bank’s investments contracted by 22.6% to about AMD 43.9 billion.

Non-banking agents and dealers made no investments in government bonds in July, and non-banking investors had AMD 31.8 billion invested in government bonds (a 1.6% month-on-month growth).
Nonresidents’ investments totaled AMD 567 million in July. —0—-
