Aggregate deposits at Armenian banks increase by 1.3 percent in 9 months to 1.530.5 trillion drams

YEREVAN, November 11. / ARKA /. The aggregate amount of individual and corporate deposits as well as deposits of private entrepreneurs kept at 21 Armenian commercial banks have increased by 1.3 percent in the first nine months of 2014 to 1.530.5 trillion drams. In late September they, however, were 0.97$ down from the second quarter.

According to “Banks of Armenia” quarterly bulletin compiled by ARKA news agency, the list of top banks by size of total deposits in the third quarter comprised Ameriabank, Ardshininvestbank, HSBC Bank Armenia, VTB Bank (Armenia) and Unibank, which accounted for 52% of all deposits.

The amount of deposits at Ameriabank totaled about 206.3 billion drams, an increase of 21.4% from the beginning of the year or 13.48% of the aggregate deposits.

Ardshiinvestbank had a total of 173.3 billion drams in all types of deposits (an increase of almost 21% from the beginning of the year) accounting for 11.33% of the aggregate deposits.

HSBC Bank Armenia had a total of 158.1 billion drams in deposits (10.33% of the aggregate amount), an increase of 0.05% from the start of the year.

VTB Bank (Armenia) had 144 billion drams in various deposits (9.41% of the aggregate amount), an increase of 4.4% from the beginning of the year.

The amount of deposits at Unibank stood at 114.8 billion drams, (7.5% of the aggregate amount), down 5.7% from the beginning of the year. ($ 1 – 414.95 drams). -0-
