EIB plans to invest about 212 million euros in Armenia

YEREVAN, March 17. /ARKA/. The European Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to invest about 212 million euros in Armenia for various programs, Vice-President of the bank Wilhelm Morterer told reporters on Monday.

Over the last three years the EIB has substantially increased its investments in Armenia, but the potential is still great for further development of the cooperation, Molterer said.

There are three priority areas of this cooperation – energy supply, development of infrastructures and SME, he said.

On Monday Armenia’s ministry of energy and natural resources singed a financial agreement with the EIB on Caucasus Electric Main program. The cost of the first stage is 107 million euros, of them 85 million will be provided by KfW under a loan agreement signed in December
